What are your favorite musics of the six Star Wars movie soundtracks?
My favorites are Duel of the Fates (Ep.I), Battle of the Heroes (Ep.III), and the Imperial March (Ep.V). What are yours?
Star Wars Fans
My friend sent me this link. It is fabulous! It's a tribute to john williams musical score of Star Wars. Check it out!http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1969675/star_wars_an_a_capella_tribute_to_john_williams/Are you a big Star Wars fan? Any memories associated with the movies?
Who had better bad guy theme music Darth Vader or Michael Myers?
I think I am going to have to go with Darth Vader. There's just something about hearing that music and knowing he's going swoop in tall, dark and scary Cape swirling..helmet shining. The ultimate bad guy. Yep, I'm going with Darth.
Great movie scores
I love movie scores, and sometimes I just go to the movies for the music. Here are a few of my favorites:I love Gone in 60 Seconds, Batman Begins, Superman, Star Wars, Star Trek, Gladiator, The Number 23, Transformers, Stardust, Elisabeth: The Golden Age, The Rock, Armageddon, Hitman, Premonition, Munich and lots of others.I was wondering if you listen to movies scores and what your favorites are?
What do you listen to for inspiration?
I'm in a music class, and I love to listen to Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Howard Schore and other great soundtrack composers for inspiration. What do you listen to? I guess it depends on the type of music you're trying to compose, but even if it's a lyrical, what sorts of music (and by what artists) do you listen to?
Your Favorite Movie Score
There have been a lot of discussions about favorite movies. That's not what this is. I have a deep admiration for composers who score movies. Some scores are just so recognizable out of context, and others are not, but still equally as outstanding. My favorite movie scores include classics like John Williams' Superman and all of the Indiana Jones movies, but I also love underappreciated scores like Edward Shearmur's The Count of Monte Cristo. Danny Elfman's music, even though some of the scores are quite similar, still strikes me as quite impressive. How about you? Who is your favorite movie composer? What makes for a good movie score? And finally, which movie score is your favorite?
Who is your favourite composer? Why do you like him/her?
Personally I'm into film music moreso than classical music, but I am also a composer who is into film music myself.I absolutely love John Williams (he composed they music for many blockbuster films: Jaws, all the Star Wars movies, Superman, Indiana Jones and more). His style is very eclectic. It's very Saturday-Evening Popcorn-watching fun music, and quite sophisticated. I have been taken with him all my life. Some of my favourite scores are from Jurassic Park, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Hook, just to name a few.I love his music because it's always got so much character to it. It always tells a story, musically. You can almost hear it without visual aid and know exactly what's going on or what should be happening on screen or in a story. My music is very similar to his, as I've been told (though obviously not quite as top-notch) and it should be. I learned a lot just by listening to his music - and composers always emulate the style of their "teachers." And I consider him an indirect teacher. If you have a favourite composer, film or non-film, classical or not, who is he/she and why do you like them?
Is Rahman the best composer we have?
he has composed in hollywood, bollywood, kollywood, tollywood, malayalam..... is he the best wat u say
What are your favorite guitar players?
I have some names for you. My favotites: Doc Watson, Merle Travis, Chet Atkins, Django Reinhardt, Tony Rice, John Williams, Elliot Fisk, Paco de Lucia, Baden Powell, João Gilberto. In electric guitar I like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery. Carlos Paredes is my favorite portuguese guitar player (it's a different instrument).
Bad News For Chronicles Of Narnia Fans
Believe it or not, I haven't seen the second Chronicles of Narnia Movie, Prince Caspian, but I LOVED, loved, loved the first one The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. To my mind the director, Andrew Adamson is nothing short of a genius in how he transformed the book into movie format. I only just learned however two hiccups in the next movies to be made....number one, both Disney and Walden Media who financed the Narnia movies are bowing out in backing any further Narnia movies...why I don't know, seems dumb really since the first two movies were such bit hits for Disney/Walden. The worse news is that Andrew Adamson has bowed out of being the director, although he will be producer and instead the third movie will be directed by Michael Apted. Originally the third movie, The Voyage of The Dawn Treader, was scheduled to be out sometime this year (May 2009), but with all the major changes won't be out until 2010.Here's a link about the third movie, which has further links about Disney/Walden pulling out of production and about a different directorhttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt0980970/[b](Warning: This is not a referral link, but a link to articles about the third Chronicles...
